Please refer to February memorization handouts for suggestions for
your selection.
Notes:
Last day for absent or failing make-up work for second Trimester: February
24
End of second trimester: March 1
Take tests within three days of returning to school after
absence.
Turn in all assignments on time.
Turn in absence make-up work within three days of returning
to school. Cover sheets must accompany make-up work for absences.
Check Scribe Book for assignments.
Read every day from books you have chosen to read outside of class.
Personal Reading requirement = One book per month from reading
of your choice. In-class reading assignments (including those
for Bible study or seminary) do not count as personal reading. Complete
Personal Reading Record and turn in by Friday (or Thursday) of each week.
Self-start at the beginning of class. Be seated, quiet, and working as soon
as the tardy bell finishes ringing. Bring materials (including a pencil) to
class every day.
Keep your participation points. Do not be tardy, use the hall pass,
or disrupt class. If you use all of your participation points, you
may not use the hall pass, so take care of restroom, drink, telephone, or
office appointment needs before or after school or between classes.
Throwing items in class is disruptive, can be dangerous, and will
result in calls home.
Be sure you have copies of all your poems (either hard copies or on your computer) for your spring poetry books. If you took your only copy home in your SLC folder, bring it back and put it in your writing portfolio. If you do not have the required poems, you will have to re-write them to receive credit. Poems you have written for class this year and poems you will be writing will be included in your books.
