April Memorization

April Memorization - 20 lines of your own poetry. Oral test during class.

1. Choose 20 lines from the poems you have written during this school year. The lines may be from one long poem or from two shorter ones. Type a NEW copy to turn in for assignment credit by 5/18. Do not turn in a copy I have previously graded. I must have this copy in order to grade your oral test.
2. You will recite your poem(s) in class on 5/24. If you are absent the day of the test, it must be made up after school on or before 5/31.
3. Presentation is important. During your recitation, stand straight; look at your audience or concentrate on points beyond and slightly above heads; speak loudly, clearly, and with feeling. DO NOT CHEW GUM. Be sure you state your title and that the title reflects the theme of the poem, NOT the kind of poem it is.
